Tree is an interactive installation shaped as a flowering tree. It gathers participants around a reactive and cooperative structure, exploiting both the architectural and social angle of the immediate parallel that exists between reality and virtuality.
RoqsTree tries to go beyond the usual opposition between real and virtual worlds by creating interactive meetings.
Being set up during a cultural/entertaining event, RoqsTree encourages people to meet and discover each other through the use of several resources like chat, video recordings,... All those resources are then real-time displayed and can be used after the event for later visualization (on the web for example). A story is then built based on the event's highlights.
RoqsTree offers an opportunity for the event guests to build together the tree of their meeting.
A 3D model of the event place is projected onto a screen. At its center, the tree with a few branches and no fruit is then displayed.
During the event, people will symbolize their presence by hanging a new fresh fruit on the tree alongside with their name, a photo and a little motto that matches best their personality. Mirroring the flow of the event, the tree grows as more photos and texts are added.
Several plug-ins allow each present people to interact with the tree by adding photos, comments and even sounds.
Wired to the internet, the tree can communicate also with the rest of the world. Texts, images, videos can be broadcasted so that people who couldn't make it to the event can still enjoy and be part of the event, in some way.
