For the inauguration of our new office in Bordeaux, we organized this original visit of the studio thanks to a stop motion vidéo, which refers to our past or present sources of inspiration.

In the early 90s, the on-the-rise demo-making scene was representing the experimental avant-garde field of real-time computer animations.
Julien Gachadoat and Michael Zancan, two of the co-founders of 2Roqs, were members of the ACCS team, a team that played a significant role in the Atari ST demo view.
Countless ideas rose up during endless meetings at 2, rue des 2 Roqs in Agen, France.
Many experimental projects came to life during those years of active collaboration. With the growth of the World Wide Web, the team had found new means of expression and exposure, and has produced several interactive animations using cutting-edge Flash and Java technology back then.
The collective website 2roqsmuseum.net was released in 2001, while each of its creators was already working as freelancers in professional multimedia projects.
The Studio 2Roqs was created in 2004 with former graphic designer Frédéric Lespine.
Michael Zancan graduated in electronics and computer science at ENSEIRB in Bordeaux. Before co-founding 2Roqs, he has worked as an engineer for large firms in the electronics industry, such as Texas Instrument in Dallas.
Quickly he figures out ways to exercise his double-sided abilities professionally, working first as a freelance consultant about software graphics and ergonomics (mostly in the medical software field), while starting to work with focus and ambition on his painting career.
The creation of studio 2Roqs brought the place of choice to develop both his artistic passion and his natural enthusiasm for programming. There he developed a number of applications in fields ranging from contemporary art to desktop utilities or experimental concepts.
In parallels he continues to dedicate himself to his oil paintings, which have been exhibited in galleries and published in a variety books and magazines so far.
Julien Gachadoat graduated in DESS of Computer Science in Bordeaux.
His passion for visual computer arts and programming started in the early 90's, and drove him to be involved in the Processing platform today, which is an open source programming language that was created to teach fundamentals of computer programming. His contribution was the translation of the reference into the French language.
In addition, he likes working on more personal projects using 2Roqs technology, like building interactive animations, some of which are showcased on his website (mainly his previous works).

Julia graduated in Professional Master in Digital Creation and Interactive Medias at the University of Valenciennes.
She joined the 2Roqs team after a compelling series of experiences which taught her art, video editing and interactive medias.
She is the author of an interactive installation named Somesthésie ( Somatosensory system ), which reinterprets the tactile aspect of touch screens to create a disturbing sensorial experience.
In the spring 2008, the team moved in Bordeaux in the center of the Quartier Chartrons, an typical neighborhood close to the riverside. The inspiring space below the high vaults of an ancient wine warehouse now hosts the creative studio.
